Texas Accredited Repossession Professionals (TexasARP)

TexasARP is a statewide association dedicated to advancing the standards of the collateral recovery industry in Texas. We unite collateral recovery agency owners and employees, not only within Texas but also across the nation, with a shared commitment to professionalism, ethical conduct, and consumer protection. Our core mission is to elevate the industry through comprehensive member education and to foster a responsible and informed repossession environment throughout Texas.

We achieve this by:

Providing expert training to our members on all aspects of repossession.
Emphasizing professionalism, ethical conduct, and a strong focus on consumer rights.
Offering ongoing education on sound business practices, relevant regulations, and consumer rights.
Serving as a valuable resource for both industry professionals and consumers, promoting transparency and building trust.
Strengthening understanding and collaboration between recovery agency owners, law enforcement, financial institutions, regulatory agencies, and the consumer.
Providing continuing education opportunities for our members, financial institutions, and law enforcement officials, focusing on professionalism, business principles, public relations, and industry innovations.

Our key goals include:

Achieving formal acknowledgment from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
Securing representation for TexasARP on the TDLR board.
Collaborating with the TDLR to establish a specific license category for repossession agency business owners.
Educating law enforcement agencies across the state on current repossession laws.
Informing our clients about the necessary requirements for conducting business as a repossession agency in Texas.
Educating Texas recovery agencies on essential regulatory compliance, including TDLR licenses, Finance Code requirements, Sales Tax, and Franchise Tax reports.
Establishing a centralized platform for clients to easily verify the accreditations of our members.
Working towards the implementation of statewide legislation to harmonize varying county laws and policies, creating a more consistent and equitable environment.
